We are excited to share that Laura Smolyar, a key member of our environmental services team at Citadel EHS, has earned the prestigious Council-certified Microbial Consultant (CMC) designation from the American Council for Accredited Certification (ACAC).

The CMC credential is a board-awarded, peer-reviewed certification that recognizes both advanced knowledge and field experience in microbial sampling and investigation. To qualify, Laura passed a rigorous exam based on respected industry texts and submitted verifiable project experience for peer approval – earning unanimous endorsement from the certification board.

This certification is accredited by the Council of Engineering and Scientific Specialty Boards (CESB), further validating Laura’s role as a trusted expert in the environmental health and safety space. Her name now appears in the ACAC’s searchable online database of certified professionals, used by clients and organizations across the country.

As part of maintaining her credential, Laura will continue active fieldwork and complete at least 40 hours of professional development over the next two years—an ongoing commitment to her field and our clients.

“I’m grateful to be recognized by the ACAC and to bring this level of technical assurance to the work we do at Citadel. We’re committed to quality, and this is one more way we can demonstrate that to our clients.”
