CALTRANS FREEWAY EXPANSION PLAN
In 2006, our litigation team was contacted by the California Department of Transportation to assist with a class-action lawsuit brought on by local residents in response to their freeway expansion plan for the I-210/CA 30; our BSCI and Industrial Hygiene teams were brought on board to support the litigation efforts.
Our the span of two years, we provided environmentally regulated materials and industrial hygiene services, surveying approximately 375 plaintiff homes for asbestos, lead , and microbial growth. Our team developed sampling protocols, collecting air, dust, soil, bulk, and tape lift samples into databases to build a defense strategy. In the end we had a strong stance, resulting in the plaintiffs withdrawing from the case.
