METHANE TESTING & LAND SURVEYS FOR A 7-LEVEL PARKING GARAGE
We were contacted by the CIM Group to test for methane within the subsurface of a proposed seven-level parking structure to be built in Los Angeles. This testing is required by the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety.
Our team of Environmental Health & Safety consultants prepared a site-specific health and safety plan, identifying existing hazards, and conducting geographical surveys for underground structures and utilities. We also performed on-site subsurface sampling with methane soil probes, where we also analyzed for hydrogen sulfide. Or findings were successful in proving to the client that no methane mitigation was required for the new structures, but that trench dams and conduit or cable steel fittings would be required; our team was also able to recommend a soil management plan to assist with the social excavations across the site where hydrogen sulfide might pose a hazard.
