LANDFILL GAS MITIGATION FOR A SANTA MONICA CONSTRUCTION COMPANY

We were contacted by Hathaway Dinwiddie Construction Company to provide Landfill Gas & Hazardous Material Design Services at a former landfill site in Santa Monica, CA. Our expertise was also required for engineering and environmental services related to the demolition, development, and construction of new facilities on top of an existing landfill with active landfill gas mitigation. 

We provided engineering designs for the landfill cap replacement; the removal and relocation of vapor extraction wells, transfer piping, and subsurface probes; and the buildings to be built on top of the mitigated landfill. We also worked closely with the regulatory oversight authorities to obtain the appropriate environmental permits, as overseen by our Environmental Health & Safety team. We also obtained the proper variances from the Regional Water Quality Control Board, the South Coast Air Quality Management District, the Los Angeles Department of Environmental Health, and the city of Santa Monica, itself, to complete the entire project.
