BUILDING A NEW CENTURY PLAZA HOTEL WITH ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE
We were contracted by Pivotal Group to lend our expertise to a $30 million renovation of the landmark Century Plaza Hotel, and conduct Environmentally Regulated Materials surveys. The building project covered 19 floors with 726 rooms, plus lobby and mechanical system upgrades.
For the first step, our team of Environmental Consultants conducted environmental site assessments for asbestos-containing materials, lead-containing paints, hazardous materials, and universal wastes of the original property. Next, we worked with Woodridge Capital on a demolition project of over half the guests rooms, plus the $1.5 billion development of two new 46-story skyscrapers adjacent to the property. Our environmental compliance experts provided the Environmental Impact Report as well as Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments, while also inspecting the new site for chemical and hazardous waste storage and handling. For the entire project, we expertly handled all changes and new requests, always reviewing any documentation created by other service providers to ensure it met our standards. Full compliance was achieved in the end.
