COVID-19 TESTING & CONTACT TRACING AT A LARGE UNIVERSITY

A major Southern California university with enrollment of more than 20,000 students reached out to Citadel to help reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission and keep their campuses open to in-person instruction. Citadel worked with the university’s Risk Manager, EHS Manager, HR, and representatives from the Student Health Center and Campus Events to set up full-time on-campus testing and vaccination clinics. Since June of 2021, Citadel and its testing clinic partner have performed more than 20,000 rapid antigen and PCR tests and vaccinated hundreds. To conserve precious university dollars, Citadel shifted to a medical insurance billing model and now provides testing at no cost to the university. Concurrent with the launch of our testing clinics, Citadel provided consulting resources to help the university develop and implement a contact tracing and notifications program to meet the requirements of California Assembly Bill (AB) 685. Citadel’s contact tracing support has varied from between 40 to 120 hours per week depending on case volume. This flexibility to scale up and scale back down is a much appreciated Citadel Advantage. Data collected and analyzed by Citadel on infectivity rates and trends are used by top executives at the university to help make difficult decisions in real-time.
