John Alexander
Practice Co-Leader, Engineering and Environmental Sciences

John is a licensed Professional Engineer in multiple states with over 17 years of experience in environmental engineering, site investigation, and remediation. As Practice Leader for Engineering and Environmental Sciences at Citadel EHS, he leads complex environmental projects and supports clients in navigating regulatory requirements, managing environmental risk, and advancing redevelopment efforts.

John brings deep expertise in subsurface investigation and remediation, including vapor intrusion assessment and mitigation, soil vapor extraction, and groundwater management. He has led the design and implementation of vapor intrusion mitigation systems (VIMS) and methane mitigation systems for both new construction and existing structures impacted by volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Throughout his career, John has managed multidisciplinary teams on complex projects across commercial, industrial, and residential sites. He works closely with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies to secure approvals and drive projects through to closure, with a focus on practical, implementable solutions that support development and long-term site performance.

John holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic State University and a Master of Business Administration from California State University, East Bay.
